Hair pain/scalp pain therapy (trichodynia)
Botulinum toxin type A is a new, highly successful treatment for hair pain (trichodynia) as well as scalp pain, itching, tingling and burning.
The very unpleasant hair pain (trichodynia) is often combined with scalp itching, tingling or burning. Unfortunately, treating hair pain with conventional painkillers has proven unsuccessful. Relaxing the chronically tense scalp with botulinum toxin type A increases blood flow to the scalp, which had previously been reduced. This can significantly reduce or eliminate hair pain. The outpatient treatment takes approximately 20 minutes.
